When the control panel ages out, the compactor either fails outright or operates unreliably. What's the difference between a PLC and a PCB in compactor controls?
A PCB (printed circuit board) is the physical electronic board. A PLC (programmable logic controller) is a type of industrial controller that runs programmed logic. Older compactors use custom PCBs with relay logic; modern compactors use PLCs. PLC retrofits replace the old PCB with a modern PLC.
